Biography:
Luke Voit is an American professional baseball first baseman, born February 13, 1991, in Wildwood, Missouri. He played college ball at Missouri State University, where he was a standout performer, before being drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 22nd round of the 2013 MLB Draft. Voit spent several years in the Cardinals' minor league system before making his MLB debut in 2017. His career took off after the Cardinals traded him to the New York Yankees in July 2018. He quickly became a fan favorite in the Bronx, slugging 14 home runs in just 39 games to close out that season. In the shortened 2020 season, he led the American League with 22 home runs in only 56 games, earning recognition as one of the game's most dangerous power hitters. Known for his muscular build and aggressive approach at the plate, Voit has also played for the San Diego Padres, Washington Nationals, and Milwaukee Brewers over the course of his career. Injuries have been a recurring challenge, but when healthy he has consistently demonstrated elite power numbers.
